rmbrME - Environmental Statement
The founders and stakeholders of rmbr are passionate about environmental protection and stewardship. From the company’s start, we have hoped that our efforts reduce the impact of User Generated Content (UGC) and social networking. In particular, we hope that a more engaging online photo experience, and an end-to-end social network in real life will reduce paper waste. By reducing the number of business cards and photos printed (the two most prolific business and personal uses of paper, respectively), we can contribute to a reduction in deforestation, chemical and petroleum use, and, ultimately, harm to the environment.
In addition to our consumer-facing environmental commitment, we also strive to operate our organization in the lowest-impact way possible. We encourage our employees and suppliers to:
- Avoid commuting by car
- Offset their individual carbon footprint
- Use electronic means of communication and transaction
- Buy office products that are recycled
- Consider the environmental impact of all decisions
In order to ensure continuity and to create organizational responsibility for our stewardship, we will endeavor to summarize our impact on the environment at least once per year for our employees and stakeholders.
